On July 8, 2019 (by French time), a series of activities on the newly established CI were held at the center of International Studies of the University of Orleans, which holds a history of more than 300 years.
In the morning, Tian Hongqi, president of CSU and Ary Bruand, president of the University of Orleans, signed the agreement on the implementation of CI as well as that on student exchange. The two sides held an academic report on cross-cultural exchanges between China and France.
In the afternoon, the opening ceremony was officially held. More than 100 participants of two countries attended this ceremony, including Yu Jingsong, the Chinese embassy in France charge d’affaires, Yang Jin, Counsellor of education, etc. Bai Yi, director of International cooperation and exchanges in CSU, read the letter of congratulations addressed by Ma Jianfei, the deputy director of Confucius Institute Headquarters.
